Disabling "Would you like to install this device software?"

  1. On my test box I ran through the installer. When asked if I would like to install I checkmarked "Always trust software", and clicked install.
  2. Once the install was done I ran certmgr.msc. Under certmgr.msc I navigated to Trusted Publishers>Certificates>"name of new cert". Right click the cert and export it. I left all questions at default.
  3. From there I added the below into my command line. Followed by my installer.
certutil -addstore "TrustedPublisher" cert_name.cer

How to send LANDesk an infected or suspicious file

How to send LANDesk an infected or suspicious file

    Description

Sometimes a virus shows up that does not have a definition yet. This is true for all viruses when they are first written. These are called "zero day" viruses.
In order for a definition to be created, the virus must be reported and sent to us immediately.

How to Report and Send an Infected or Suspicious File

If there is a file(s) that is identified as suspicious, before submitting the file(s) for analysis make sure that all infected machines are scanning with the latest definition files. Once all machines have been scanned with the latest definition files then follow the steps outlined below to have the infected files analyzed.
    1. Collect the infected virus file(s) and compile them into a password protected .ZIP file.
    2. Compile the infected file(s) into a password protected .ZIP file.

    Deploy/Remove PXE Representative

    A. Information

    What is a PXE representative?
PXE stands for Pre-boot eXecution Environment.  It allows you to manipulate a computer’s hardware and software before you boot into windows and it locks files.

To boot into PXE from the network, you have to have a computer acting as a PXE representative somewhere on your network, or in each VLAN if you employ vlans.  If you have computers that are not compatible, a boot CD or USB disk can be made.

    B. Procedure

1.- Go to : Tools -> Distribution -> OS Deployment
2.- Under "OSD Script" section go to "All Other Scritps

Figure 1 : PXE Representative script

create a task under:  Scheduled tasks

created. Do right click on the task and select:  Start Now -> All

5.- This deployment will take several minutes (8 to 10 aprox). Once it is done you will get
         a Green Bar under Successful

6.- You should have just one PXE representative for each subnet to don't have any PXE
          conflict.
